Our tradition on Canada Day is to head on over to Andrew Hayden Park and take in the festivities. We were a little nervous that the weather was going to be terrible because, well that’s what the weather has been so far this summer.

We made our second annual trip to the Ottawa International Festival of Ribs and Eating. The weather was great (although Adalia doesn’t seem to like the hot), the food was incredible and I caught a childhood memory on film.

If there is an upside to Sheyna being away, it is that I can catch up on all my movie/tv watching. It’s not really an upside, but come on, I’ve got 2 more days to go and I’m looking for any ray of light.

It wasn’t cold, it wasn’t raining so we hopped on our bikes, handed Aviva the video recorder and spend the rest of the afternoon answering the question, “How was your day?”. All in all, a pretty good day.

What do you do when you finally get a nice afternoon without rain or cold? Pack a picnic and head to the park. That’s what you do. That’s what you do.

We laugh, we love, we dream. Then we wake up and realize our children own us and have forever changed us in ways we could never imagine.

It’s a happy day in the house today. Nina has a surprise anniversary party planned that involves the sisters and me. Can’t wait!!!
