I've decided that for my own sanity I'm going to resist (as much as possible) the big wooden picture books. I'm getting really tired of looking for the number 3 that is ALWAYS hiding behind big bird's tail. ALWAYS. So now I'm going to turn off all the lights in the room, except for one reading light pointed over my shoulder, have all the girls lying down in one bed, and I'm going to read them stories that are well written and engaging for all of us.

The first book on the list is my old favourite from when I first read it in grade 5. The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I’ve loved this book since the first time I read it. If you haven’t had the chance to read it yourself or are looking for some great bedtime material, take a gander at this one. It’s definitely worth owning.
